"Republicans: The No.1 reason the rest of the world thinks we're deaf, dumb and dangerous."

"Fifties Republicans were giants compared to today’s. Richard Nixon was the last Republican leader to feel a Christian obligation toward the poor."

"The concentration of wealth and power in the hands of the few is the death knell of democracy. No republic in the history of humanity has survived this. The election of 2004 will say something about what happens to ours. The omens are not good."
-Garrison Keillor

Heck, read the whole darn article here.

I can't tell you how mad I was this afternoon listening to NPR. The pollsters were saying that Bush was leading Kerry 50% to 47%. How in the name of God and all things decent can anyone support the current moron in the White House. To vote for Bush you have to be ignorant, stupid, an A$$hole, or a corporate CEO.

It was a seething anger that nothing can quench. It's not like when someone cuts you off in traffic, or is rude to you kind of anger. It was an anger at the injustice Americans are willing to subject themselves and other Americans to with four more years of Bush. It was an anger based in the pure class warfare the Bush administration is waging against Americans that work for a living. It was anger at the thougth of regressive social, domestic, and foreign policies.

Are the people that are planning to vote for Bush hoping that an American soldier will be standing on every street corner in the world? Do they think its great to watch people take several low wage jobs to stay even? Do they think its great to watch Americans lose their health care or hang on to it by a thread? Do they really think Bush & Cheney are decent upright citizens, Role models all children should hope to become?

I remarked to a co-worker yesterday that America will find itself like Wile E. Coyote standing over a cliff right before he looks down. Once Bush is out of office in 2008, we'll fall hard down that cliff, with piano, boulders, kitchen sink, and battleship crashing down upon us. All we'll have is a measely little clown umbrella to protect us.

Give Bush four more years and he'll take that as a mandate of the people to enact his vicious conservative ideals on America. We'll be stuck cleaning up for decades, if we're lucky, because of the Smirk in the Whitehouse.

I guess America really wants that, and that also really enrages me. I wanted to belive Americans wanted to live in a free country, with liberty, justice, and hope for all citizens. I guess they're happy settling for WWE wrestling and reality television in a police state. Give 'em their cable tv's and they're happy. Amen, hallelujah! Pass the ammunition and grab me another cheap crappy bear.

I know how the freedom loving Germans must have felt watching Hitler get elected. I can understand how the senators of Rome felt watching their Republic fade into an Empire. Do we keep the corporate republic with Kerry or coronate Bush and his ilk emperor?

Wake up America. Wake the f_ck up.

kangaroo journlism (n).
1) mock media set up in violation of established journalisitic principles
2) journalism characterized by dishonesty or incompetence.

See Fox News, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity for examples.

Watch as they bring a "liberal" on their show, then slam him/her over the air waves. Listen as they name call, yell, rant, and skew information in their favor. They aren't forums for debate or getting information, they're witchhunts.

I'm sure the Germans did the same thing to communists, jews, and other dissenters in the 1930's. I'm betting the Romans did the same thing to people of conquered countries, not to mention persecution of Christians.

If this is what America wants, we're going to be in for some serious trouble.
